Legit didn’t take any photos today. Oops.
Today Jackson spent most of the day with his cousins from their sleepover at Nana and Papa’s last night. They had all the funs and Jackson was definitely brunt toast this evening from all the excitement.
This morning DJ prepped the camper for us. We took it to the campground in town and dumped the grey and black tanks as we hadn’t done that since leaving VA. It was kinda a reset morning as DJ is heading back home tomorrow to get back to work for a few weeks while the kids and I stay here.
While our camper is parked on my in-laws patio/driveway, we don’t use the bathroom much. Amelia always uses it first thing in the morning and I use it usually only once, when I give Amelia her meds at 3 am. So now that the tanks are empty, we should be good for quite awhile. I’m sure we will take the camper to the campground at the lake in town before we head up to Alexandria later in July.
Lunch today was leftovers. DJ did a loaded baked potato. I did a hobo lunch that involved a baked potato with some queso, some celery with hummus, and some sweet corn. It was nice to have a veggie-full meal.
After lunch, we stopped by my grandparent’s place in town. They are doing relatively well and just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. They are also the only grandparents out of the 5 sets DJ and I had between us when we got married. The kids and I will be spending more time my grandparents later in July in Alexandria for our “Nelson Week.”
This afternoon, DJ prepped for his flight tomorrow morning… which meant doing some laundry and packing. DJ and I also swung by to see a high school friend quick. And the rest of the day we just kinda hung out with DJs parents.
Dinner tonight was kinda a fail. DJ and I eat mostly vegetarian/vegan and try to not eat too much for the fake vegan meats…goal for our food intake is more produce and less processed. Burgers are burger however, and sometimes you just want one. We have found we like the Boco burgers and the Beyond Meat brand to substitute in occasionally. I bought the Impossible brand burgers this time (it was what was available here) and we were not impressed. We won’t be buying those again!
After dinner, one of DJ’s auntie and uncle who live in town stopped by for a bit and it was fun catching up with them.
I’m off to bed, I was binge watching show last night while DJ was out with his high school buddies and I definitely felt the lack of sleep today! Good night!
