Hello from KOA Naples and the tail end of our trip! We are in a pretty small spot here, but we all had a good night of sleep last night. Having AC last night made a huge difference.
Amelia still isn’t feeling 100% but having a slow day yesterday (just driving in the truck) and a chill day today has been helpful.
Today we drove up to DJ’s cousin’s house. They used to live only 20-25 minutes from us when we both lived in Minnesota and we saw them regularly. This is also the family we met up with last year on our road-trip move from San Diego to Virginia. We spent 3 nights together on Jekyll Island, Georgia during our move and their kid’s spring break.
They live in a gorgeous home with a lanai (screened in/closed in patio with a pool). They have 3 kids and they had today off school. The lanai was a perfect spot to spend the day while the kids swam and Amelia took a nap.
Jackson and the crew enjoyed quite a bit of swimming and hanging out. Messi didn’t swim, but enjoyed running around a bit, but stayed mostly in his kennel as their youngest is allergic.
I bought a sound machine anti-bark device before we left and we tried it today. Definitely worked as Messi looked at it’s direction after he barked a couple times, he was sad to be stuck in his kennel. (We got it for the camper to use if he was getting hyped up in the middle of the night because of noises/car doors… we haven’t needed it yet with giving him a calming/puppy melatonin treat before bed).

Amelia enjoyed dipping her feet in the hot tub for a bit today.
We did sandwiches and fruit for lunch and pizza for dinner. Easy and delicious!

DJ’s cousin helped us fulfill a food want while in Florida, to have some legit key lime pie. We didn’t realize until recently that key limes come from the Florida Keys. Makes a stupid amount of sense but sometimes the dots don’t fully connect until it’s right in front of you.

Anyways, we all enjoyed trying some legit key lime pie, even tho we aren’t in the Keys anymore. (We failed to get some when the camper wasn’t hooked up to the truck. Then once it was connected and we were driving back north to mainland we didn’t see any easy spots to pull over and buy some… need to plan that better next time!)
We still need to get some legit Florida oranges before leaving the state tomorrow. We have plans to stay in Georgia tomorrow night, which would make it our 21st state to camp in!
That’s about it for today! A great chill day with family!
PS- I didn’t take a lot of photos today, we spent a lot of time just enjoying each other’s company chatting and catching up. Also, the kids were running around in swimsuits most of the day and they aren’t my kids to post on my blog. You’ll just have to believe me that they were there and all had a good time.
2-3 more nights left on our trip!
