Summer of 23 (Day 34) Ohio – Home in Virginia

First off, I forgot to get a better photo of our campsite this morning. You’ll have to trust me that it was awesome. Really bummed we got our campsite at KOA randomly upgraded and didn’t get a chance to enjoy it. That KOA would have been fun to hang out at on a hot summer a day with the pool, splash park, and small water slide they had on site. Maybe next time…

My dad didn’t sleep the best in the camper last night with our very noisy AC going right above the queen bed (I slept on a roll-up mattress on the floor last night). With his less than ideal night of sleep, he needed a break from driving today. I did about 2 hour of “trailering” (as DJ and I refer to it) today on I-70 through Ohio, West Virginia, and into Pennsylvania.

Pretty proud of myself this last week. I drove the camper on the interstate and to a gas station/ gas pump. I also dumped the black and grey water tanks twice. The only thing I haven’t attempted now with our camper and camping is backing the trailer up into a campsite… that day will come I’m sure, no idea when tho… (and I’m not in a huge rush to try, DJ is getting super good at it).

We did apples with peanut butter for lunch with some Naked juice smoothies I bought at a gas station. We also had some spicy pretzels that Jackson and Nana made the other day.

Driving, driving, driving…

We made it!

It rained a bit here and there during our last leg of the drive.

We finally arrived at about 7 pm! It was a long 2 days, but we made it! Unpacked some of our camper tonight, the rest can wait for tomorrow.

We are also draining the on-board water tank as it is adding lots of weight to the front of the camper currently.

About to do some yoga and get to bed! It’s been fun, but we are all happy to be home. I don’t know if Messi or Amelia was more excited. They were both thrilled.

No shenanigans scheduled for our next outing yet… maybe next weekend as DJ has it off. TBD
