We officially started our drive back to Virginia today. We didn’t go very far, just over 2 hours to my aunt and uncle’s house in south east Minnesota.
We are mooch-dock camping in their driveway. My dad hit level like it’s cool and we left it. It’s still on the trailer hitch, and we didn’t bother with the stabilizer jacks. We are hoping to get on the road by about 7-7:30 am tomorrow and wanted as little work as possible.

It’s been fun catching up with my auntie and uncle. I haven’t seen any of my dad’s side of the family for years. (Since we lived in MN over 4 years ago). Unfortunately when my Grandma died, a year ago April, Amelia was in the PICU at the Children’s Hosptial in San Diego so I couldn’t make it to the funeral to see all my cousins and family. So, I’m glad we decided to spend the night here tonight.
I need to get to bed as we have a long day of driving tomorrow… however, before I sign off can you believe it’s Amelia’s last night as a 9 year old? OMG! Big girl turns double digits tomorrow and she will be 10! It’s crazy and I can hardly believe it because I’m still carrying her and toting her around on my hip (more than I should… she weighs about 1/2 my weight these days).
Cheers to the birthday girl who gets to spend her entire birthday in the truck driving! We will have to do an aquarium outing or something soon to make up for it!
Anyways, goodnight!
