Summer of 23 (Day 20): Lake Mary, MN

Holy wow! I can’t believe we have been living out of the camper for 20 days now. Amelia and I on these trips are always the two that spend all those nights in the camper. Jackson likes to spend the nights inside when we are mooch-docking at our family’s houses and DJ unfortunately always has to go back to work.

Last night I stayed up late reading and finished my book. Amelia has been a bit overly fatigued lately and slept in until 8:30 am. I opted for a nice breakfast in bed and caught up on a YouTube video. Jackson was already inside the blue cabin here with his cousins having breakfast with them.

Obviously I had my favorite oatmeal, frozen blueberries, navy beans, and Trader Joe’s cookie butter. It is fabulous and I highly recommend you try it!

Backtracking to Amelia’s fatigue… I think I figured the issue out… she hasn’t been eating her favorites of bacon or cheese lately. All of her gtube blends are vegan (because it’s what we have around for what I eat and it’s easy to blend canned beans for her protein while traveling).

Photo below is er blend from 2 of her meals today: black beans, plantain, avocado, cooked carrots, spinach, strawberries, pink salt, and water. Her feed I blended for breakfast and lunch tomorrow: lentils, potatoes, kiwi, banana, blueberries, spinach, hemp hearts, spirulina powder, barley grass juice powder, pink salt, prunes, and water. She is definitely getting a great variety of foods everyday…

I think if Amelia wasn’t on as high of a dose of Depakote as she is currently (one of her seizure meds) this vegan blended diet via her gtube wouldn’t be a problem. (Especially if she was still eating orally her bacon and cheese) Because of the Depakote, she takes a supplement called Levocarnitine as the Depakote lowers her carnitine in her blood.

If you read below, this is from WebMD about the levocarnitine supplement:

Basically, I think the poor girl need some meat and cheese. It’s just unfortunate she had stopped eating altogether for awhile while on this trip. Her tiredness seems to have gotten worse lately. I’m not forcing her to be vegan, it’s just a lot easier to blend, especially while traveling.

Long story short… she will be getting some meat in her blends tomorrow. She also ate some cheese on her own tonight, so hopefully that will start to help.

Not gonna lie though, I have been thoroughly enjoying her being content to sit and snuggle more lately. I’ve been soaking all the snuggles up and got a lot more reading in today. Usually I don’t get the chance to sit much while taking care of her (especially solo with DJ back at work) as she is usually always on the go.

I‘lol obviously update on the meat-gtube-blend consumption as we go. Hopefully I’m right and she perks back up to her normal sassy self.

As to other news. Jackson went finishing in the boat today (that tiny dot on the water). He did quite well and caught several fish. He is having the best time here and I know he will be super sad on Saturday when we have to leave.

We did a chill day here… beach time, ordered pizza for dinner, and I got around to swifter-moping our camper floor!

Last full day tomorrow! I’m going to read some more and get to bed! Goodnight!
