Summer of 23 (Day 16): Lake Mary, MN

Lake fun today! (Sorry not sorry, I’m clearly not the best at taking photos while hanging out with family).

The big kids did all the things… Litchfield-Monopoly, badminton, swimming/beach time, movie night, played card games, etc…

Too much fun! They are all going to be burnt toast shortly.

Messi got a new harness today. He is terrible about being tied up to one spot and will break his neck one of these times without a harness. He starts running, hits the end of his cord, and is yanked back hard (almost whiplash-esque) against his collar. We are definitely concerned he will kill himself doing this… ergo, the urgency and necessity of getting him a harness to prevent any serious neck injury this week.

BTW- it was surprisingly cold with the wind today. I legit wore my puffy vest quite a bit today. It was also necessary to have the heater on last night in the camper… AND I had to turn it up in the middle of the night when I gave Amelia her 3 am meds. She is the only one who sleeps next to a window and she was a popsicle.

We have definitely needed the heater on overnight a couple times now since we left. It depends on the daytime temperatures as to what the camper temperature starts off at at bedtime.

Last night, I had the heater set to 70° to start and raised it to 72° when I noticed how cold peanut was (and I added another blanket on her).

We sleep between about 68-76° while camping between the AC and our fake fireplace heater. We prefer to not use either when it’s nice enough/comfortable temps.

Amelia is doing well here. She didn’t go swimming (as it wasn’t that hot today and the wind was cold), but she did hang out at the beach for a couple hours in the shade. She has been super snuggly these days and she enjoyed sitting on my lap while at the beach.

Unfortunately. I had spent some time today between reading (photo above) and working on her Amazon Wish-List for her 10th birthday. (No, I can’t believe she will be 10 in just over 2 weeks! It’s crazy!) Long story short, my phone was charging because the Amazon-list making drained my battery. So, I didn’t get any photos when we were enjoying beach time today. I’m not super concerned, as there will be more beach days for photos.

DJ, my brother, and one of my uncles when mountain biking at a trail nearby today. They left at about 2 pm and were back well before dinner. Sounds like they had fun.

That’s about it for the day! We are getting ready for bed. All the fresh air and sunshine (and wind) wears us out! Goodnight!
