Happy 4th of July!
We have had a super fun, low-key day hanging at DJ’s sister’s and her husband’s house. Amelia had a rougher night last night and needed a very slow and snuggly morning today. (Definitely proof the camper is fabulous for her and we are using it exactly how we told Make-A-Wish we would… as a comforting space for her with all her supplies available).
After some Tylenol and Gatorade Amelia perked up this afternoon. She may have been a bit dehydrated (TBD) with the travel and increased elevation to cause a rougher night last night. We definitely did a reset for her today… got her a bath and washed her hair, got some good foods in her gtube blends, got lots of fluid and Gatorade in, got some sunshine and fresh air with her bare toes in the grass, all the good things…

Amelia opted for a slow start in her bunk this morning. She definitely loves her cozy spot.

DJ went on a super long mountain bike ride this morning. I did my YogaBurn in the camper .

This afternoon we hung out in the backyard in between some short rain storms. A couple different yard games were played… but our group favorite today was badminton. BTW- We definitely need to get our own set to keep with our camping stuff.

This badminton net uses the carrying bag as the place where the poles get placed. It worked fabulous.

Messi decided to get involved and really liked chasing down and grabbing the badminton birdie. Little nugget!

We got Amelia to do some chalking and she had a blast! It was nice to see her back at her spunky self this afternoon after she had been a blob this morning.

We got vegetarian “Stuft Burgers” for dinner and I splurged and got mine on a donut bun. It definitely hit the spot!

After dinner we play lots and lots of rounds of Apples to Apples. Jackson is definitely getting funnier this days and he did quite well. Amelia also sat at the table for a few minutes before she went to bed.

Evening ended with some gaming.
It was a perfect 4th for us… It was low-key after 3 long days of driving. We stayed away from crowds and people. We ate good burgers. AND most importantly, we enjoyed time with family.
Hopefully the personal fireworks don’t go too crazy tonight as it is still on-and-off raining. I’m sure we aren’t the only ones annoyed by this… but it’s been like 4 nights in a row of fireworks and people aren’t very respectful about what time they shoot them off at. Last night there were ones super close by being shot off well after 11 pm. Fingers crossed and hopefully tonight is the last night of this holiday celebration.
Good night! We are headed to Estes Park/ Rocky Mountain National Park tomorrow to meet up with some friends!
