Nothing too out of the ordinary here. Just starting to do the typical moving things to get settled. As mentioned yesterday, I had a grocery order delivered last night. Almost $500 later, and our kitchen is decently well stocked from flour, to ketchup, to coffee, to cereal, to fruit and veggies, to eggs, and milk… that first grocery bill after a major move always hurts (and inflation!)

Jackson said our fridge looks like we have lived here for more than a day. I’ll take that as a compliment. One less thing to deal with once we get our household goods shipment (and prepping for when Nana and Papa come out Wednesday!). The guy who delivered from Walmart legit had huge plastic totes in his car (from Walmart) and DJ and delivery guy tag-teamed. Delivery guy grabbed the totes from his car and brought them to the house, DJ brought the totes inside, I unloaded them onto the floor and brought them back outside. It was quite the efficient delivery!

Our house we are renting was built in the ‘60’s and has some quirks…. At some point in the house’s history, a master bath was renovated/added and includes a big soaker tub with these big windows AND the shower. The shower can be the grab handle one lower on the wall, or the rainfall shower from above. The windows have the privacy film, however I am curious how much you can see from outside at night. This faces our backyard, but still curious… tbd…
The boys were giggling last night about opening the windows and then showering. Jackson thought it was hilarious.
And no, there is no showner curtain aspect to this set up. It is interesting… I used the rainfall shower last night and you definitely feel very exposed… it’s a big bathroom with no enclosure for the shower and add in the factor of the windows at night. Not sure how I feel about it yet. We do have 2 other very dated bathrooms I could shower in…

Last night we all opted to sleep in Amelia’s room. Ironically, she is getting the smallest room in the house this time around. (She was in the master bedrooms in both MN and CA). Again with the quirks of the house, it has radiator heat. This smallest room has the best layout to have her bed touching two walls, which is quite important to keep her safe and secure while sleeping.
We all ended up in Amelia’s room because I needed to be in there…. Which meant that DJ needed to be in here as well to share the camper mattress or we needed to move her onto the big mattress with me and give DJ the little one. Jackson’s room faces the front/street and doesn’t have a curtain on his big window yet… so he opted to jump in on the slumber party. Clearly we are all accustomed to sleeping in a tiny space together after having been in hotels and the camper for the last 3 weeks. I think this is how we are sleeping again tonight. (I did order some curtains today and a rug for Amelia’s bedroom).
With this new house, have also decided to re-orient how we set it up. Since we are putting Amelia in a small room, her Smartboard and queen sized bed won’t fit great together. We are making her bedroom into more of just a sleeping space and putting her Smartboard in the living room. We are going to try to have her out in joint/family spaces more, which we are excited about.

After lunch, we drove almost an hour one way to Maryland and picked up the Escape. It was rainy on the way there… and we hit decent DMV (DC/Maryland/Virginia) traffic on the way back. Maybe not the best timing to go get it…Friday afternoon. Oh well, it has been sitting there, waiting for us for like 2.5 weeks now.
I’ve done 3 loads of laundry dry today. I think I’m on my 3rd load of dishes in the dishwasher since we arrived (had to wash waterbottles and whatnot ontop of our daily dishes).
We haven’t gotten everything out of the camper yet, but we are getting there. We have an appointment at a camper dealer/repair place on Tuesday to get the damages fully and officially assessed.
Amelia took a long bath in the big soaker tub tonight and enjoyed it. I think Jackson tried the rainfall shower, he giggled while DJ was getting it started. Not sure what his final thoughts were on it…
Probably the best part of the day was DJ taking the kids outside while I cleaning up the kitchen from dinner and prepped Amelia’s evening meds. I could sneak peaks of them out the kitchen and dining room windows. They were adorbs and at one point all of them were in the little house at the top of the slides.

From DJ: “She’s so excited for her swing set. She was following Jackson up and down the steps and down the slide”
Seriously, the cutest! (And holy wow would COIVD lockdown been 1000% different for us had we been renting this place…) anyways…
I had some of Amelia’s meds sent to the CVS nearby. Turns out it is .3 miles from our house AND has a Minute Clinic. Obviously we will get Amelia a primary care doc, but having that option soo close is SUPER nice.
While picking up 3 RX’s for Amelia and dropping off another, I ended up chatting with the pharmacist and 2 techs. Kinda a meet-and-greet if you will… as the pharmacist asked what other meds Amelia is on so they can be a bit more ready.
Have I mentioned that the CVS pharmacy also has a DRIVE THRU?! (something super uncommon in CA)… it’s awkward how much I feel like we hit the jackpot getting a CVS with a drive-thru (so I don’t have to tote Amelia in while DJ is traveling… this is clutch), and a Minute Clinic. Can you tell I’m a medical and special needs mom? The things that make me happy/excited…

The boys hooked up our camper projector tonight with Jackson’s Switch. They are playing Lego Star Wars from our camping loveseat. They fancy! Haha… This is very likely going to be where the Smartboard ends up, but we shall see when our stuff gets here. (It will fit on this wall and there is an outlet).
That’s about all for tonight. Good night!
