Since we stayed up a bit later last night and haven’t adjusted fully to the daylight savings plus the EST timezone, we are on a later morning schedule than we normally are… I’m assuming we will probably sleep in a bit tomorrow too. Time changes are hard! We have have had to switch from Pacific, to Mountain, to Central, to Eastern… plus daylight savings, all in 2 weeks! That’s 4 hours different than what we started the month at!
Today we got up, did breakfast at about 9 am at the hotel, right before they stopped serving breakfast and then went and moved the camper. The reservation DJ had booked was in 2 parts, so we had 2 different campsites. While we were messing around with the camper, Becca and crew grabbed Jackson and they went on a short hike/walk where they saw 2 alligators and several turtles.

This seriously would have been a fun campground to stay at. We considered staying there tonight, since we are a lot closer to the bathrooms in our second site, but decided to book another night at the hotel since it’s more convenient to go back and forth with Becca and fam. (We actually aren’t at the same hotel as them, but the one right next door).
After lunch, we checked out this beach, St. Andrew’s Beach Park for awhile. We had intentions of putting the kayaks in the water, but it was a bit too windy and cold. It wouldn’t have been a super fun or easy paddle.

Miss peanut was THRILLED to be back at her happy place, the beach. She got her toes in the water and did some sand-writing with us of some of her favorite words.
We decided since we weren’t kayaking, that we should go over to the Driftwood Beach instead. The kids enjoyed climbing all over these huge driftwood trees.

Some close ups of the trees because the textures were sooo cool! Becca said the trees absorb so much salt water they eventually die and fall over, roots and all… and the salt has hardened them so much they stay intact (I think? I could be wrong?… Don’t quote me).

The beach is covered in these dead driftwood trees. Amelia enjoyed exploring them too for awhile.

Can’t win them all… fairly cute family photo. Amelia was more interested in the tree then the photo, can you blame her? These trees are crazy awesome.

… and Jackson doing tree pose on a tree… because that’s what we do when we are out and about exploring.
We went to dinner after this at Tortuga Jacks Mexican restaurant. I got the veggie fajitas. It was zucchini with red bell peppers, onions, and fajita toppings. Super yummy! Jackson got a burger and fries, DJ got fish tacos (but said mine was better) and Amelia got a combo gtube feed and French fries. Amelia did amazingly well at the restaurant. Becca pre-ordered her fries, so they were ready and at the table when we got there. #winning!
After dinner the crew got some fro-yo while I got Amelia showered and her evening meds. The big kids ran and played soccer at the nearby grassy area and are quite tired from all the sunshine, fresh air, and running around today.
Tomorrow we will be hanging out here for awhile and then later in the afternoon, taking off to make a 2 day drive to VA! We have about 9.5 hours of drive time from the GoogleMaps, which is more when you factor in the camper trailer drive speed and all our potty/gas/food combo stops.
Our realtor did the walk-through inspection today and left our house key in a lockbox for us to let ourselves in, whenever we arrive. We are planning to get there either Thursday night or by Friday afternoon, depending on what time we get out of here tomorrow and how fast we get through the last leg of the drive.
Our household goods shipment will be delivered Monday and we will officially begin the next chapter of our crazy lives!

… until tomorrow!
