I can’t believe it’s already day 9. We are almost half way through our trip!

Today we left Texas, crossed into Louisiana, and then crossed the Mississippi River into Mississippi. We are staying 1 night in Vicksburg, MS so the boys could visit the Vicksburg Civil War battlefield.
Amelia and I opted to stay back at the camper and re-organize a bit. We stopped and bought groceries this morning and I was motivated to sort through our storage to throw a couple things away, and stash stuff under Amelia’s bed that we really aren’t using. We LOVE the versatility of our tiny camper, but the storage is quite limited and things that aren’t being used can’t stay/stay out.

Yep, totally had to trash the camper to reorganize.

I’m happy to report I got the camper situated again and cleaned up this afternoon and am currently doing laundry. We will be at another state park (back In Louisiana, near New Orleans) for the next 2 nights and they typically don’t have laundry at state parks. So, I’m doing 1 big load tonight to try and stay ahead of it a bit.
The boys had a good outing to the Vicksburg Civil War Battlefield. My two guys are both quite the history buffs, so I’m quite sure they were 2 happy peas in a pod at the battlefield.

They found the Minnesota Memorial while there and obviously had to take a couple photos.

(I had to look this up…) The significance of the battle, was that the Union gained control of the Mississippi River when they won.
I can’t pretend to know much else about the battlefield or the battle without just copy and pasting some info from the internet. The boys are both showering now while I’m in the camper writing this. I may or may not get more photos from DJ and add some more info later… TBD… I’m giving it like a 50/50 chance. Don’t hold your breath.
Just keeping it real… I have to finish laundry and shower and get to bed early tonight. Between Amelia having a little middle of the night party (where she thinks it’s time to be awake and play), having to give her-her morning meds at 3 am, and a seizure, I didn’t get a good night of sleep.
… until tomorrow! (We will hopefully locating some authentic beignets!)
