We are officially in Texas for the next 3 nights!
We left our New Mexico KOA campground at about 8:45 am. Then, we stopped at a McDonalds/ Loves gas station for lunch and gas. The kids got Happy Meals, DJ and I blended some green smoothies and found some other goodies in the camper.

Today we deemed an admin/ catch up day. I finally got around to filling out the rest of Amelia’s enrollment forms for her new school. I also sent her San Diego neurologist a request for 2 medication to be sent to Louisiana this week for refills… fingers crossed that goes ok as we have to get another med refilled next week too. (Gotta love controlled seizure meds and the inability to fill them early).
I also worked on getting our utilities set up at our new house… oh the joys of moving!
We got to the KOA in Abilene, TX early this afternoon and before I let DJ get started on camper set-up, I went and started another 2 loads of laundry. We got our clothing done yesterday… tonight it’s blankets, bedding, and towels. We obviously need them all dry before we go to bed so we can shower and snuggle up… so I got the laundry started ASAP.
Texas is nice and hot. It was 84° when we got to the KOA, which was a bit of a surprise with us having nice cool snuggly weather this last week. From now until we start heading north, we should be in warmer temps, which should make Jackson happy as he loves his shorts!

The plan for the rest of the night is to finish laundry, shower, do our few dishes, and re-watch an old episode of Kara and Nate where they visit the iconic Buc-ee’s gas station and get lots of goodiess and treats. We should be getting to our first Buc-ee’s tomorrow outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I’m excited!
Think that’s it for now, not too exciting of a day… until tomorrow!
